On Tuesday, December 2, 2008, the St. Louis County Board adopted the 2009-2010 budget. The 2009 St. Louis County Operating and Capital budget totals $360,704,730, which will allow the county to carry out high quality yet efficient services to citizens in the areas of planning and zoning, land management, solid waste, public works, public health, human services, criminal justice, economic development and general government services. The county property tax levy for 2009 is $106,523,778 in property tax dollars for these services.
This represents a 4.88% increase over the 2008 property tax levy, and is comprised of a 3.36% general levy as certified by the State and special levies.
